Dr. Catherine Harrell, MD
Dr. Catherine Harrell is a board-certified dermatologist with extensive training in medical dermatology, cutaneous oncology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology.
She is a fifth-generation Texan with deep roots in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She graduated from high school at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison and received her BA from Baylor University in the prestigious University Scholars Program where she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and became a member of Mensa. Dr. Harrell then completed medical school at the University of Texas at Houston and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, which recognizes the top medical school graduates. After an internship in internal medicine at the University of Texas at Houston, she went on to complete her dermatology training at the University of Texas at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she served as chief resident in her final year.
Dr. Harrell enjoys teaching and is an Assistant Professor at the TCU School of Medicine and responsible for developing the first-year medical student dermatology curriculum. She has and continues to publish articles in peer-reviewed journals and regularly teaches and lectures to medical students and residents. She is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Texas Medical Association, and Tarrant County Medical Society. She also serves on the board of the Texas Dermatological Society and the Advisory Board of the American Academy of Dermatology as well as several other committee roles within these organizations. She has been to Washington, D.C. several times to advocate on behalf of her patients and other dermatologists on Capitol Hill.
She has a special interest in complex medical dermatology, bullous skin disorders, psoriasis and treatment of skin cancer. She volunteers her time and resources with Project Access Tarrant County and is a consulting dermatologist for Baylor All Saints Hospital. She has been recognized by Fort Worth Magazine’s Top Docs, 360 West Magazine Top Doctors, and Super Doctors Rising Star as featured in Texas Monthly magazine.
